G.L. Pease Jackknife Plug Review: A Rich Smoking Experience

Maker: G.L. Pease

Name: Jackknife Plug

Tobacco: Kentucky Fire Cured & Red Virginia

Cut: Plug

Taste: 6/10

Strength: 6/10

Room note: 5/10 (tolerable.)

My Overall score: 6/10

This rich and earthy plug from G.L. Pease is a classic, the aroma reminiscent of an elder’s pipe in the park. A fast chop and pack into the bowl is trickier for newbies (like me) to pack. But it’s not insanely difficult to learn.

Loaded this classic Tobacco into my Falcon, and the aromas from it gave off a smoked brisket type of aroma. And lighting did not disappoint. All the way through, had the smoky, meaty, leathery type of flavor, with a short-lived spice to it. The aroma off the pipe was relatively similar as well. I myself would only smoke it on strolls, as opposed to smoking on the porch.

This smoke does have some sticking power but won’t leave you smelling like a bowling alley.

Overall, if you want a nice, relatively smooth smoke without sweetness, this is the plug for you.
