What We Do
Quack Pack Tabac is a history-leaning, information-forward blog dedicated to thoughtful discussions of tobacco, cigars, and snuff. Research is taken seriously, curiosity is encouraged, and respect is non-negotiable.
Ducks will be mentioned. A lot. Trust me…
Who We Are
Duckie — Writer & Photographer
Duckie is the primary writer and photographer for Quack Pack Tabac. He researches products, develops written content, explores historical context, and captures many of the photographs you see on the site. His passion for detail, accuracy, and depth is a driving force behind the blog.
Duckie and CariAnne are related. (Son and mother, respectively.) We have a shared (read: sarcastic) sense of humor. We might even post something like “This rusty snuff tin might give you tetanus.”
We are not physicians nor scientists. If we were, we’d be making more money than we are.
We are not licensed to diagnose or treat any ailments. However, we are smart enough to realize that sniffing snuff from a rusty snuff tin won’t actually give you tetanus. We will, however, call out the atrocity of receiving a rusted tin of snuff in a tongue-in-cheek manner. That’s hyperbole not honest-to-goodness scientific fact.
If you want to read a medical or scientific journal: boy, are you ever paddling in the wrong pond…
CariAnne — Editor & Site Steward
I’m CariAnne, the editor and site steward of Quack Pack Tabac. My role includes:
- Editing and shaping all content
- Determining appropriateness and publication readiness
- Approving or unpublishing content
- Publishing posts
- Overseeing tone, clarity, and remaining consistent
- Managing site communication and reader correspondence
Duckie develops most of the content; I edit, upload to as well as build and maintain the site.
I also write pages like these.
How We Work (and Why)
Important context:
Duckie is on the autism spectrum (Asperger’s syndrome).
Madison is exceptionally high-functioning and deeply knowledgeable. However, maintaining his focus can be challenging at times. Determining social or contextual appropriateness can also be difficult for him. For that reason, Quack Pack Tabac content is heavily edited. It is thoughtfully overseen to ensure this pond remains both respectful and informative. The content must align with the values of this space.
I (CariAnne) also handle reader questions and communications in order to maintain clear, kind, and consistent interactions.
This collaborative structure allows Duckie’s strengths to shine whilst also making sure the site remains welcoming and responsibly managed.
A Passion Project
Quack Pack Tabac is a passion project.
Duckie develops the bulk of the written and photographic content, and I edit and upload posts as consistently as possible. I strive to publish on:
- Mondays
- Wednesdays
- Fridays
That said, work schedules, family responsibilities, illness, or other life realities will occasionally affect this rhythm. We sincerely appreciate your patience, kindness, and support as we create content with care and intention.
Our Values & Boundaries
Kindness is not optional here.
Quack Pack Tabac is, and will always be, a kind and inclusive space. Bullying, mockery, or dismissive behavior—especially toward people with disabilities—will not be tolerated. Bet.
Disrespectful language or ill behavior directed at Duckie, our readers, or anyone else has no place here.
We also will not, in good faith, recommend or support merchants who treat people cruelly or disrespectfully. Professionalism, decency, and basic human respect matters. Actions and words have consequences. CariAnne, most especially, will hold people to their words and actions.
Education Matters
Autism and Asperger’s are often misunderstood. We believe education, patience, and sharing lived experience help foster understanding. We are committed to sharing information thoughtfully and respectfully.
A Shared Effort
This blog exists because of the ongoing dedication of two people.
Quack Pack Tabac is built through collaboration and mutual respect. There is also a shared commitment to offer you quality content, topic clarity, and kindness.
If you’re here in good faith—are curious, respectful, and open-minded—you are welcome in our pond.

Warmly,
Madison and CariAnne
