In a shocking collaboration, NASCAR is partnering with American Snuff Co. to bring Grizzly on as a sponsor.
This sponsorship wouldn’t be unexpected (exactly) considering the recent popularity boom in nicotine pouch products. The collaboration, nonetheless, remains exciting for tobacco enthusiasts.
As part of the deal, Grizzly will also be granted naming rights to the racetracks’ camping grounds.
Along with that, they’re running a special consumer promotion. They are giving away passes to five lucky people. Each winner can bring one guest to attend 12 of this season’s biggest races.
Rules and details can be found on their site. Quack Pack Tabac is not a paid sponsor.
Reynolds owns American Snuff Company. Reynolds was the same company that owned Winston Cigarettes. Winston Cigarettes was an iconic former sponsor of NASCAR in years past.
In 2010, NASCAR banned tobacco product sponsorship. Still, with the rise of nicotine pouches, we might see a resurgence in advertising for these products.
Could this lead to a repeat with other nicotine delivery products? Or a broader rise in tobacco advertising overall? Time will tell.
For now, it looks like Grizzly will be barreling down the racetrack for years to come.
